Aventura Mall Hosts Seasonal Farmers Market, On Now Through September

The Farmer's Market, located in the mall's Center Court. The event takes bi-monthly, with the next one scheduled for the weekend of June 25-26

Surrounding the majestic fountain in Aventura Mall's Center Court guests will find the Farmer's Market with vendors selling a wide variety of diverse items such as:

The indoor Farmer's Market takes place bi-monthly, on Saturdays from 10am-9:30pm and Sundays from noon-8pm. The market runs from April-September of each year. The remaining dates are: June 25-26; July 9-10 & 23-24; August 13-14 & 27-28; September 17-18 & 24-25.

Dadeland Mall Adds Premium Retail Selections To Its Already Popular Store Mix: Henri Bendel, Pandora, BSA Hair Salon & BSA Nail Spa

Dadeland Mall, Miami’s premier shopping destination with Florida’s largest Macy’s, will offer even more great shopping choices with the summer opening of several national name brand retailers, adding to its growing retail mix of more than 185 specialty stores. Leading brand additions will include Henri Bendel, Pandora, BSA Hair Salon and BSA Nail Spa.

“We look forward to providing our visitors with even more shopping options as we continually add more name-brand offerings,” said Osvaldo Dominguez, general manager of Dadeland Mall. “The addition of these four incredible retailers will only enhance the shopping experience that local residents and area visitors enjoy.”

Dadeland Mall is proud to welcome Henri Bendel, which will be located on the west side of the mall. One of Manhattan’s chicest shopping destinations, Henri Bendel is a girl’s playground, where they can find the new and next in accessories, cosmetics and gifts. Since 1895, the signature brown and white shopping bags have been spotted swinging from the arms of stylish young women from around the world.

The mall will also soon be home to Pandora, the hottest and most contemporary jewelry designer inspired by the modern woman. From diamonds, rubies and sapphires to gold charms and silver bracelets, Pandora has everything needed to bring the ultimate touch for women to express their individuality. Pandora will open in the Saks Fifth Avenue corridor.

Also joining the mall’s extensive retail mix this summer are BSA Hair Salon and BSA Nail Spa. BSA is a new salon brand but one with more than 20 years of experience in the South Florida beauty industry. Dadeland Mall’s newest nail spa will feature iPads at each pedicure spa chair.

Aventura Mall Hosts 7th Annual Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale

Aventura Mall will "bake a difference" when it hosts the 7th Annual Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale, a culinary benefit to end childhood hunger in America. The event takes place  Sunday, May 22, from noon-4pm at Aventura Mall's Center Court.
                                    
Local bakeries, restaurants, marketplaces, and hotels will offer samples of sweet treats for $2 to $5. Tickets for all bake sale items will be on sale at the event for $1 each or $10 for 13 tickets - a baker's dozen. Proceeds will be distributed to local organizations that feed children and assure them access to good nutrition.

Participating vendors include: Grand Lux Café, Nordstrom Café Bistro, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Ocean Prime, Alisa’s Painted Bistro, Turnberry Ocean Colony, The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort and Spa, Chef Allen's, Florida International University, Edda’s Cake Design, Hot Cookies, Cookies by Shar, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Caramel Swirls, Chocolate 4 Charity, Forever Sweet Cakes By Design, Jennifer's Homemade, Joe's Stone Crab, Nestle Waters, and Whole Foods Market.

The event will also include raffles for great prizes, a cupcake decorating station for kids and several pastry demonstrations.

One in almost four children in America goes to bed hungry each night – that’s 17 million nationwide and more than 637,000 kids in Florida alone. Proceeds from Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale will be distributed to local organizations that feed children and assure them access to good nutrition; past recipients have included Feeding South Florida, Florida Impact and FLIPANY.

10:15 Meet the Judges – host will introduce the panel of judges
10:30 Competition Kickoff – the event begins with performances by the contestants in groups of 5 and will include a short dance combination and personal introduction.
11:00 Individual Talent Segment - (Contestants 1-44)
During this portion of the competition each contestant must perform a one- minute solo presentation and entertain the judges with their dancing and/or singing ability.
12:00 15 Minute Break – Guest Appearance by Dolphins Mascot, TD
12:15 Individual Talent Segment - (Contestants 45-90)
1:30 Intermission/Judges Discussion
Judges submit their first round of scores. Miami Dolphins Fins Force engage the audience with opportunities to win prizes thru trivia contests and on-stage activities. Also former judges and cheerleaders will speak about their audition experience and take questions from the audience.
2:30 Final Production Number – The finalists have been preparing all week
for their final 30-minute high-energy dance and kick performance. This is the judges’ last look at the candidates before making their decision of who will make the 40 member squad.

Shoe Designer Sam Edelman Debuts Spring 2011 Collection at Nordstrom in Aventura Mall

Aventura Mall Exhibiting Original FIU Student Art On Food Court Tables

Aventura Mall is showcasing original works created by art students at Florida International University (FIU) through March 7. The 10 unique images, displayed on 100 tables in the Aventura Mall food court, represent love in various forms. They range from a playful photo of a puppy peering through a wrought iron fence to a tender image of two seniors holding hands. 


The exhibition is being presented by Turnberry for the Arts, Aventura Mall’s dynamic cultural initiative combining contemporary art and education, and sponsored by the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, located on the Modesto A. Maidique FIU campus in South Miami. 


Jacqueline Fletcher, director of Turnberry for the Arts, said the innovative program will allow hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life to enjoy artwork in a non-traditional way. 

“We’re excited to launch this wonderful collaboration that brings community exposure to talented art students,” Fletcher said. “The art is fun and whimsical.” 


According to Carol Damian, director and chief curator for the Frost Museum at FIU, the selections were narrowed down from about 35 submissions based on how the art complements the Aventura Mall environment. 


“The students were enthusiastic about the project and found it quite challenging,” Damian said. “We’re thrilled to partner with our art department at FIU, Turnberry for the Arts and Aventura Mall.”

The Aventura Mall was voted Best Local Shopping Destination by Miami Herald's "Hot List" and ranks as one of the top five highest grossing malls in the country in sales per square foot.
