Global Fashion Retailer H&M to Open New Location at Aventura Mall in Fall 2012




H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, one of the world’s largest global retailers known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics, is thrilled to announce that it will open a second location in Miami at Aventura Mall.


Following the success of its South Beach pop-up shop, H&M will open its Aventura Mall location shortly after its highly anticipated H&M Lincoln Road flagship store opens, in the fall of 2012.

The fashion retailer is excited to provide even more shoppers in southern Florida access to the brand’s high-fashion, quality collections. The approximately 25,000 square foot space at Aventura Mall will offer collections for ladies, men—including the full suiting collection, young ladies and young men, with separate “store within store” sections for accessories, lingerie, and sports apparel. This location will also carry the Swedish retailer’s fantastic children’s collection, featuring quality clothing for kids ages newborn to eight.


Since H&M opened its first store on New York’s Fifth Avenue 12 years ago, the U.S. has been one of the retailer’s most important markets. With its emphasis on expansion, H&M is committed to opening stores in the best properties and locations for its customers. Miami International Mall Presents the Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration







Hispanic Culture and fall fashion come alive at Miami International Mall with the Eighth Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, created in partnership with the City of Doral, and taking place Sept. 21-22. The event is FREE and open to the public.


The community will experience the diverse cultures and flavors of various Latin American countries through colorful, energetic fashion shows and interactive entertainment as local leaders are recognized through the Hispanic Star Awards.  Miami International Mall, one of Miami’s leading shopping destinations, is currently seeking nominations for each of the coveted “Hispanic Star” awards.


On Friday, Sept. 21, the Hispanic Heritage Celebration kicks off with a culturally-inspired reception honoring the Hispanic Star Nominees in front of local dignitaries, community leaders, prominent media and special guests at the VIP Reception, which serves as the kick-off for the weekend Hispanic Heritage Celebration. The nominees will also participate in a dynamic, show-stopping presentation of the hottest fall fashion looks beginning at 7pm. A silent auction will follow with the proceeds collected being donated to Simon Youth Foundation and a local charity.


On Saturday, Sept. 22, Hispanic Heritage Celebration continues at the mall with the announcement of the Hispanic Star Award winners.  Additional weekend festivities include authentic folkloric music and fiery dance performances, country heritage exhibits, art and flag displays, live entertainment and a spirited parade of native dresses from South America, Central America and the Caribbean presented by the City of Doral.

The Shops At Sunset Place’s “Living Fit! Health And Beauty Expo” With Special Guest Angelique Millis



The Shops at Sunset Place will present its “Living Fit! Health and Beauty Expo” on Saturday, February 25 from noon to 5 p.m., featuring fitness expert and lifestyle coach Angelique Millis. Many experts, services and organizations whose mission it is to educate families about the importance of healthy and balanced living will also be joining the effort. This event is free to the public and also features other fitness experts, beauty samplings, health screenings and giveaways.

Holiday Magic Returns To Dadeland Mall With the Santa Photo Experience


The Santa Photo Experience at Dadeland Mall began its annual run on Nov. 18 when children can be photographed with Santa Claus through Dec. 24 in the Center Court.

Magical Snowfall Returns for its 9th Year at Dolphin Mall

Dolphin Mall Rings in the Holiday Season with a Winter Wonderland in South Florida.





















Dolphin Mall invites everyone to experience the ninth annual Magical Snowfall. The free winter festivities in Miami begin at Dolphin Mall at the Ramblas Plaza on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and continue into the New Year. There will be a snowfall at 7 p.m. daily, with an additional snowfall at 9 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.


Beginning Monday, December 19 there will be a 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. snowfall every day until Monday, January 2, 2012. There will be no snow on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), Christmas Day (Dec. 25), New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), or New Year’s Day (January 1, 2012).


In true Dolphin Mall holiday tradition, magical wands will be distributed every night to children under 12 years of age, when their parents sign up to receive the Dolphin Mall e-bulletin.






At the strikes of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., the children will wave their wands in the air and magically the snow will return to the mall while illuminating the sky with a warm holiday glow. Youngsters can pick up their wands 30 minutes before each show. 


Dolphin Mall is an enclosed value retail/entertainment/dining destination with 240 retailers, restaurants and entertainment options. It is located just five miles west of Miami International Airport, where the Dolphin Expressway and the Florida Turnpike intersect. The 15th Annual “Miracle On 136th Street” Holiday Parade at The Falls


The Falls 15th annual Miracle on 136th Street Holiday Parade will soon be marching its way into South Florida to kick off the most wonderful time of the year with a special guest starring as Grand Marshal.

Miracle on 136th Street takes place Saturday, Nov. 19 at 4pm at The Falls (Center Court), 8888 SW 136 St., Miami. More info at 305-255-4571, www.simon.com or on Facebook. The event is free and open to the public.

The celebration will include Santa’s first appearance of the season, along with internationally recognized costume characters, marching bands, motorcycles, clowns, vintage cars and local celebrities.

Parade starts at the east end of The Falls in front of Bloomingdale’s and will travel the entire length to the center, west to Macy’s.

Following the parade, The Falls officially kicks off the holiday season with the lighting of their more than one million white lights in the gardens that line the shopping area. The holiday lights will be on display through Jan. 6, 2012.

This year, the parade will benefit the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education, an innovative learning, teaching and training initiative dedicated to elevating the quality of early care and education in Miami-Dade County and beyond.

Measuring 16' by 29', the display is built and designed by Smartt, Inc. and features MTH Electric Trains. Assistance is provided by Ready to Roll Train Store.  The Model Train station is located in the JCPenney Court.

Strut Your Stuff for Cancer: Local Ladies Strap On Stilettos For A Sole-Inspired Dash Around The Falls

The Falls, one of the largest open-air shopping, dining and entertainment complexes in the United States, is excited to welcome the “Strut Your Stuff For Cancer” fundraising event, presented by Baptist Health Breast Center, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event takes place on Thursday, Oct. 6, 6pm-9pm, at the Center Court in The Falls, 8888 SW 136 Street, Miami. The evening kicks off with a sassy "strut" around The Falls leading to a style trend show featuring "well-heeled" cancer survivors and the "angels" who helped them recover.


The Pink Heals Tour will be stopping at the event as part of their national tour. The Pink Heals Tour, a movement celebrating women by raising money and awareness for the fight against Breast Cancer, will be steering their two signature pink fire trucks towards The Falls in honor of the charitable event.

The Pink Heals Tour is led by the self-proclaimed “Guardians of the Ribbon,” a group of firefighters, police men and community leaders that travel the country to spread the “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” campaign, the fastest growing movement in the country.  The campaign’s non-profit mission is to provide a national movement for the support of women across the country by wearing the color pink. The tour will be selling their commemorative Pink Heals T-shirts at the event in hopes of generating proceeds for those affected by the disease in the community. The Falls

Proceeds will directly benefit Cancer Support Community Greater Miami, Sandy B. Muller Breast Cancer Foundation and La Liga Contra El Cancer.  The event will feature wellness presentations, live entertainment and a chic cocktail hour with decadent treats.  Guests will also receive a gift bag with The Falls October Savings Book and other exclusive goodies.  Attendees will have the opportunity to register to win fabulous prizes.  The Falls will "GO Pink" throughout the month of October in recognition of this noteworthy evening.

Fashion's Night Out Invades Miami TONIGHT!

Fashion's Night Out is a global initiative, sponsored by Vogue magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The first event took place in New York City in 2009 as a means to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry during the tough economic climate.


In 2010 the event expanded, taking place in Australia, Brazil, China, London, Paris, Berlin, Greece, India, Milan, Portugal, Russia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey!


This year's event takes place on Sept. 8 at several Miami shopping meccas, with giveaways, events, runway shows, designer appearances, and more!

More than 75 stores will offer everything from live music to discounts, gifts with purchase and other promotions. The first 150 shoppers who show same day receipts for more than $150 in the mall will receive a special Fashion’s Night Out tote bag at the MasterCard concierge desk.


A runway fashion show and exhibit, "Decades of Passion for Fashion," created with celebrity stylist Danny Santiago of "Sex and the City" and "Sex and the City 2," will begin at 7 p.m. in the mall’s fountain court.

Macy’s will have a fall fashion presentation hosted by Jill Zarin of "The Real Housewives of New York" at 6:30 p.m. The first 100 shoppers who spend $50 or more at Macy’s can meet Zarin, receive her autographed picture and get a complimentary cosmetics clutch.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the mall will host events including music by DJ Ess & Emm, complimentary cocktails, light bites and informal modeling. Shoppers can enjoy a photo booth session with a $25 purchase from any retailer.

Neiman Marcus is planning a major event, in partnership with Ocean Drive Magazine, including a fall trends fashion show on an elevated runway, music by DJ Rascal, complimentary ping pong, a "Bordeaux Beauty Bar" with mini-manicures, a photo booth, and Grey Goose cocktails from the professional mixologists at some of Miami's finest restaurants: Soho Beach House, Sra. Martinez, Sustain restaurant + bar, and STK.


“We wanted to really do it up this year,’’ said Neiman Marcus Coral Gables spokeswoman Katharine Rubino.


Nordstrom will also celebrate, offering specialty cocktails at an open "mega-bar," informal modeling, and the chance to enter to win a $500 shopping spree.

Neiman Marcus is partnering with Plum Miami Magazine to host a fall trends fashion show, with music by DJ Affect, bites by Il Mulino New York, Texas de Brazil and Divine Delicacies Cakes and lipstick portraits by Lipstick Artists.


Chloe is hosting an event with champagne and music from DJ Johnny the Boy. A Polaroid instant mobile printer will be available to link to shoppers’ cameras or smart phones, to print shots of fashion or partygoers.


"We’d love for people to come and have fun with us and enjoy their time," said Jose Manrique, store manager for Chloe at Bal Harbour.


Yves Saint Laurent will offer champagne and gourmet macaroons. The store is donating 15 percent of the evening’s proceeds to the Bass Museum of Art.


Fendi will donate 20 percent of proceeds from the evening’s purchases to the Wolfsonian-FIU.

Shoppers also can enjoy complimentary Grey Goose cocktails at Oak Plaza on 39th Street. And there will be live musical performances by Agape and Artofficial from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Palm Court, said Anna Williams, vice president of marketing for Dacra, developers of the Design District.
