Global Fashion Retailer H&M to Open New Location at Aventura Mall in Fall 2012




H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, one of the world’s largest global retailers known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics, is thrilled to announce that it will open a second location in Miami at Aventura Mall.


Following the success of its South Beach pop-up shop, H&M will open its Aventura Mall location shortly after its highly anticipated H&M Lincoln Road flagship store opens, in the fall of 2012.

The fashion retailer is excited to provide even more shoppers in southern Florida access to the brand’s high-fashion, quality collections. The approximately 25,000 square foot space at Aventura Mall will offer collections for ladies, men—including the full suiting collection, young ladies and young men, with separate “store within store” sections for accessories, lingerie, and sports apparel. This location will also carry the Swedish retailer’s fantastic children’s collection, featuring quality clothing for kids ages newborn to eight.


Since H&M opened its first store on New York’s Fifth Avenue 12 years ago, the U.S. has been one of the retailer’s most important markets. With its emphasis on expansion, H&M is committed to opening stores in the best properties and locations for its customers. Now offering U.S. consumers access to quality fashions at the best prices through 245 locations across the country, H&M at Aventura Mall will be a welcome addition to the local Florida market. Swirly Goodness Arrives In Aventura: Pinkberry Opens Second South Florida Location on Aug. 26

Pinkberry, the number one tart frozen yogurt brand, will open its second south Florida location in Aventura on Friday, August 26.  The new store will be located at 21211 Biscayne Boulevard.

To celebrate the brand’s second south Florida opening, the Aventura Pinkberry location will host a Grand Opening event on Thursday, August 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The party is open to the public and will include free Pinkberry for everyone along with plenty of extra goodies.  The first person in line will win free Pinkberry for a year, and the first 50 people in line will receive a Pinkberry surprise.  There will also be a raffle give away throughout the night.  Every 30 minutes, starting at 6:30 p.m., a lucky guest will win a free Pinkberry Party for up to 15 people.

Aventura Mall Hosts Seasonal Farmers Market, On Now Through September

The Farmer's Market, located in the mall's Center Court. The event takes bi-monthly, with the next one scheduled for the weekend of June 25-26

Surrounding the majestic fountain in Aventura Mall's Center Court guests will find the Farmer's Market with vendors selling a wide variety of diverse items such as:

10:15 Meet the Judges – host will introduce the panel of judges
10:30 Competition Kickoff – the event begins with performances by the contestants in groups of 5 and will include a short dance combination and personal introduction.
11:00 Individual Talent Segment - (Contestants 1-44)
During this portion of the competition each contestant must perform a one- minute solo presentation and entertain the judges with their dancing and/or singing ability.
12:00 15 Minute Break – Guest Appearance by Dolphins Mascot, TD
12:15 Individual Talent Segment - (Contestants 45-90)
1:30 Intermission/Judges Discussion
Judges submit their first round of scores. Miami Dolphins Fins Force engage the audience with opportunities to win prizes thru trivia contests and on-stage activities. Also former judges and cheerleaders will speak about their audition experience and take questions from the audience.
2:30 Final Production Number – The finalists have been preparing all week
for their final 30-minute high-energy dance and kick performance. This is the judges’ last look at the candidates before making their decision of who will make the 40 member squad.

Aventura Mall’s Premier Lineup Expands With Renowned Fashion Destinations

Aventura Mall, South Florida’s leading shopping destination, continues to strengthen its already exceptional mix of stores with an array of exciting new fashion retailers. This summer, Montblanc and Omega will celebrate openings.  Recent store debuts include Coccinelle and Braccialini and Inglot Cosmetics. In late March, Sephora expanded its selection with a larger store and The Body Shop will unveiled its newly renovated concept April 15.

Montblanc will feature its collection of iconic writing instruments, watches, fine jewelry and leather accessories in a new store to open at Aventura Mall in July. The new 1,485 square-foot store will prominently feature its collection of “TimeWriters” – chronographs in the Nicolas Rieussec and TimeWalker editions.  In addition to men’s and ladies timepieces, the new location will also display elaborate limited and special edition writing instruments and a selection of jewelry and leather pieces for both men and women. The contemporary store design will feature a beautiful Swarovski crystal curved glass-floating chandelier. VIP Clients will be ushered into a private client room or can take a private tour of the exclusive Diamond Bar, available in only three boutiques nationwide.

Omega, the prestigious Swiss brand and member of Swatch Group Ltd., the world’s leading watch manufacturer, was founded in 1848. Omega has been synonymous with excellence, innovation and precision for more than 160 years. Faithful to its original pioneering spirit, Omega continues to make technical and watchmaking history with innovation in areas as diverse as sports timing, precision technology, and design – innovations that led to the conquest of ocean depths and space.

Jeanette Horta, Puerto Rican native and former model and actress in Mexico, combined her two favorite Italian luxury handbags brands, Coccinelle and Braccialini, at a new store that recently debuted at Aventura Mall. She collaborated with President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mosaicon Fashion Group USA John Wilson to open the first Coccinelle and Braccialini boutique in the United States, offering handbag and accessories from both traditional Italian brands.

Inglot Cosmetics was established more than 20 years ago by Wojtek Inglot, a young chemist who created a unique and revolutionary cosmetics line. The main objective was to produce high quality cosmetic products at fair and reasonable prices. Today, Inglot has one of the most extensive color ranges in cosmetic collections across the world. Inglot sells its products in more than 240 stores all over the world.

In addition, Sephora relocated to an expanded space and The Body Shop will reopen after an extensive renovation.

The Sephora retail concept is rooted in aesthetics, presenting shoppers with the most unique product assortment, store design, and client services. Personal Beauty Advisors are available for 60 minute one-on-one consultations in makeup, skincare, hair care, fragrance and nutritional needs. Energy efficient and environmentally friendly, Sephora Aventura uses LED lighting on fixtures to reduce overall energy consumption. The Body Shop re-opened its doors Friday, April 15 with a fresh new look. Ballet Etoile Presents the South Florida Premiere of "Edith Piaf" at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Ballet Etoile presents the two-night South Florida premiere of "Edith Piaf" on Tuesday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 30 at 8pm at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center as part of the Arts Access Program. Through contemporary dance, live singing and dramatic theater, the work tells the tragic, but romantic story of the life of the famed 1940s French singer, Edith Piaf.

Ballet Etoile strives to promote contemporary dance theater in South Florida and combines passionate artists and creative innovative works.

The event is part of the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center’s Arts Access Program, which provides technical and marketing support to local community groups enabling them to develop and build their audiences.

Tickets to the performance are $25 with $30 VIP tickets available offering premium seating and admission to a wine and cheese reception with the cast after the show. Tickets and group discounts are available by calling 954-462-0222 or select a seat online at www.aventuracenter.org.

Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Makes Music and Memories This November

Music lovers of all ages will delight in the November lineup at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. Doreen Cronin's bestselling barnyard books return to the theater in the Family Fun production of Giggle, Giggle, Quack on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11 am and 1 pm Mayhem ensues when Farmer Brown leaves town and puts his city-slicker brother in charge. The farm animals enjoy treats such as pizza for the hen, bubble baths for the pig and movie night for the cow. Children will enjoy pre-show arts and crafts presented by Young At Art Museum, complimentary face painting and a post-show snack provided by Whole Foods Market and Blue Bell Ice Cream. Tickets are $14 with $3 lap tickets available for infants 12 months and under. Tickets are $15 the day of the performance.

The City of Aventura presents The Piano Men starring Jim Witter in a musical journey through the 70s, featuring the songs of Billy Joel and Elton John on Friday, Nov. 12 at 8 pm. Hits including "My Life," "Candle in the Wind," Rocket Man" and "Just the Way You Are" are accompanied by rear-screen projection of the newspaper headlines, automobiles, people, events, toys and even the TV shows that shaped a decade. Tickets are $40 and $45.

Next Step Dance makes its debut in Miami-Dade with An Invitation to Dance on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 8 pm The contemporary dance company, showcasing entertaining and provocative works, will present audience favorites from the repertory: "Summer Time," "Silenzio," "Photograph," "The Other Side," "Surrender," "Woodblock Study" and "One For My Baby." The event is part of the Aventura Cultural & Arts Center's Arts Access Program, which provides technical and marketing support to local community groups enabling them to develop and build their audiences. Admission is $26.50.

Relive the magic of the best time in musical history with A.B.B.A. International Entertainment's presentation of Remember Then on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8 pm. Reminiscent of old school sock hops and listening to the juke box over a malt and a burger at the neighborhood drive-in, the show is a memorable tribute to the 50's and 60's featuring the Marvelettes Revue and special guests The Temptations Revue. Tickets are $35 and $60 for preferred VIP seating which includes a Meet and Greet Celebration.

The City of Aventura presents Maria Rivas on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 8 pm. Rivas is Venezuela's premier contemporary vocalist and composer. A native of Caracas, her style truly represents the "new Americas." Drawing on the cultural richness of her homeland, her unique popular sound is an intoxicating blend of indigenous, European and African strains with just the right splash of Brazilian and Latin Jazz. Rivas is a remarkably gifted and versatile artist and an international star in the making. Tickets are $30.

Patrons of Exceptional Artists presents the Miami International Piano Festival, known for bringing the world's best pianists and rising stars to South Florida, on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 4 pm in the debut of the Aventura Cultural Series. The first concert of the Series will open the Festival's 2011 Season with a fascinating program by Italian keyboard master Francesco Libetta. This unique program will feature compositions by Chopin and others that specifically pay tribute to Italian Theatre, sopranos and ballerinas, as well as an enlightening pre-concert discussion by "Miami's Music Maven," Professor Frank Cooper. Tickets are $30.
