Passport to Prana is an innovative, new multi-studio yoga passport so Miami's visitors and residents alike can explore the world of yoga without breaking the bank!
The $30 Passport to Prana card entitles Passport-holders to one yoga class at each of the 22 participating studios in Miami and the Miami area. With the average yoga class costing about $15, the potential savings are tremendous. This steal-of-a-deal makes it fun and easy for Miami visitors and residents to find the perfect style of yoga, whether they are seasoned yogis or brand new to the practice.
The Passport to Prana Card |
The concept was conceived in 2005 by YuMee Chung, a former securities lawyer who switched careers to become a yoga instructor.
“Our goal with Passport to Prana was to find a way to make yoga truly accessible to everyone,” she explained. “With its rise to popularity over the past few years, the cost of yoga has skyrocketed, effectively making it a luxury for most. Passport to Prana gives everyone, including absolute beginners, a great way to try out the yoga studios where they live, work and play, no matter what their income level, age, or level of fitness.”
An online yoga portal is also part of the program. Anyone who purchases a Passport to Prana will receive an electronic card that will be processed by the yoga studio just before class. The yogi can log onto their Passport to Prana profile at www.passporttoprana.com to track everything from class attendance to passport information in real time. Studio listings, maps, contact information, up-to-date class schedules, special discounts and fun contests are also available, making it a must-stop spot for any yoga lover in the city!
Like all Passports, this one has an expiration date. Miami Passports are good for one year after activation and are available for purchase at www.passporttoprana.com and select participating studios. See the full list of participating studios here.
The program was originally launched in Toronto, Canada and has spread quickly across Canada and into the U.S., with programs currently running in cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Tampa. The program will be coming to other U.S. cities later this year.
