In Start Together, young children will create art projects inspired by favorite children’s books, as a way to learn the basics of color and design, develop fine motor skills and encourage a love of reading.
Start Together will be held monthly from through May 2012, on the second Thursday of the month from 10am-11am. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

- November 10: Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree – Paint Your Own Tree
- January 12: Maurice Sendak, Where The Wild Things Are – Wild Thing Masks
- February 9: Kevin Sherry, I’m The Biggest Thing in the Ocean – Underwater Windsocks
- March 8: Jane Yolen, How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? –Sock Puppet Dinos
- April 12: David McKee, Elmer The Elephant – Patchwork Pachyderms
- May 10: Marcus Pfister, The Rainbow Fish – Catch a Rainbow Fish
Start Together is $10 for MoCA members, City of North Miami residents and employees and $15 per class for non-members. A discount of $2 is offered for each additional child in the same household. A four-class series is available for $32 for members, $50 for non-members. Scholarships are available through the Irma Braman Creative Arts Scholarship Program. Advance registration is required.
